Celebrating Partnership: An Evening of Biscuits Baseball and Appreciation with Our Educational and Career Partners

At the Montgomery Chamber, we know that the strength of our region lies in the partnerships we build—and last week, we had the opportunity to celebrate some of our incredible collaborators.

Last Wednesday evening, May14, under the lights at a Montgomery Biscuits baseball game, we hosted an appreciation and networking event honoring the educational and career development professionals who help shape the workforce of tomorrow. Organized as part of the Chamber’s Talent Initiative, the evening was designed to recognize the individuals and institutions working tirelessly to prepare our region’s talent pipeline and create meaningful opportunities for growth.

From college administrators to career center leaders, these professionals are at the forefront of workforce development—guiding students, job seekers, and future leaders toward success. The event served as a moment to pause, reflect, and say a heartfelt thank you to those who helped make the Spring 2025 River Region Career Fairs a success.

These career fairs are more than one-day events—they are bridges between education and employment, between talent and industry. They represent the kind of progress that’s only possible when community partners come together with a shared vision. And this week’s celebration was a chance to honor that collaboration.

The night was filled with laughter, baseball, great food, and genuine connection. Among those in attendance were representatives from:

Educational Institutions

  • Alabama State University
  • Auburn University at Montgomery
  • South University
  • Tuskegee University
  • Trenholm State Community College

Career Partners

  • Montgomery Career Center
  • One Place Family Justice Center

While some partners were unable to attend due to prior commitments, we remain incredibly grateful for everyone’s contributions to our shared mission.

Events like this are important. They go beyond networking—they strengthen the relationships that support our workforce development efforts. They create opportunities for deeper collaboration and innovative thinking. And they remind us that the future of Montgomery’s economy is directly tied to the strength of our education and career systems.

As part of the Chamber’s ongoing Talent Initiative, we are committed to creating spaces where connections flourish—between institutions, between industries, and between people. We’re excited to make events like this an ongoing tradition, continuing to promote the kind of partnerships that ensure Montgomery remains a place where people can truly Live, Work, and Play.
